Donal Lunny's Atlantic Arc
Atlantic Arc is a collaborative ensemble of renowned traditional musicians and singers from Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland, under the musical direction of Dónal Lunny, one of Ireland's most accomplished performers, composers and producers.
Atlantic Arc features Tara Breen on fiddle, Sharon Howley on cello, Davie Ryan on drums, Ewen Vernal on bass, Graham Henderson on keyboards, Jarlath Henderson on vocals, guitars pipes and whistles, Pádraig Rynne on concertina, Pauline Scanlon on vocals, and Dónal Lunny on bouzouki and guitar.
In the days leading up to the concert at the National Opera House, the musicians will facilitate 2 full days of masterclasses and on the third day the participants will experience the Atlantic Arc's technical rehearsal, sound check and concert. These masterclasses are facilitated by Music Generation Wexford and Music Generation Waterford, via SoundWaves, a new annual programme of nationwide masterclasses and concerts for young musicians. SoundWaves'21, the inaugural series, is presented by four Music Generation areas: Wexford, Galway, Carlow and Clare and features Donal Lunny's exceptional 9 piece traditional music ensemble Atlantic Arc; further details can be found on the website.
