Cork2020sHaydnSymphoniesSeries
Starting at 3.30 p.m., and lasting for just under an hour, the ascent of music’s Everest continues in Cork! The third of this ten-year, fifty-concert series provides you with the opportunity to hear Symphony No. 49 in f (“La Passione”) – a dark-hued, sombre work in the minor mode – and the second of three symphonies he wrote for London in 1782: No. 77 in B flat major. The orchestra is guest-led by Mrja Gaynor and conducted by Geoff Spratt. Admission: €10 (All concessions: €5) by programme only at the door. Arrive early, though, because the first two concerts in this epic series have sold out. The series continues on Sunday 13 September 2020.
