August Informal Music Afternoon

August Informal Music Afternoon

Sunday, 1 August 2021, 1.00pm

Enjoy live music again at this Informal Music Afternoon, in the Hawk’s Well foyer.

Featuring Ciara Fagan, soloist in a recorder concerto by J F Fasch, and Nicola Cleary soloist and leader of sligo baroque orchestra, concertos are the focus of this Informal Music Afternoon and the really novel element will be a live audience.

As a Donegal student studying for leaving cert Ciara Fagan performed a recorder concerto with sligo baroque orchestra; now, some years later, as a graduate of the Royal College of Music in London, she returns to present a really virtuosic concerto by Johann Friedrich Fasch. Anyone who thinks that the recorder is not a proper musical instrument should come and listen! Lorraine Howley and Nicola Cleary share a concerto by Heinichen for flute, violin, strings and basso continuo. A second double concerto is the most famous piece In this programme: Vivaldi’s concerto in G minor for two cellos. The soloists are Anna Houston and Ella Rose Feeney.

Sarah Crummy is a singer-songwriter from Sligo. She accompanies herself on piano and has worked in many collaborations with other songwriters and musicians. She is a regular performer at the Kieran Quinn theme nights. We are delighted to present her for the non-classical part of the Informal Music Afternoon program in August.

Please note: People will be allocated socially distant seats on arrival. When booking multiple tickets you will be seated together.
