Learning and Community Manager
Handel Hendrix House in Mayfair, London, invites applications for the position of Learning and Community Manager. This role, supported by The Linbury Trust, is integral to the museum’s engagement with schools, colleges, universities, and community groups.
Responsibilities: The appointee will develop and manage a comprehensive learning programme aligning with the National Curriculum in Music, History, and other subjects. Responsibilities include delivering educational sessions, collaborating with freelance educators, and developing partnerships, especially with migrant and refugee groups. Additionally, the role entails creating teacher CPD programmes, an annual music summer school, and inclusive interpretation strategies to enhance visitor experience.
Candidate Profile: Ideal candidates should be skilled musicians with strong communication abilities, capable of engaging diverse audiences. An understanding of the National Curriculum and ability to develop content across various genres is essential. Candidates should demonstrate experience in educational programme development and a willingness to collaborate across disciplines.
Employment Details: This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, with occasional evening and weekend commitments. The role offers a salary of £34,650 per annum, 25 days annual leave plus statutory holidays, and enrolment in the pension scheme. The position is based at Handel Hendrix House, with a flexible working arrangement subject to a six-month probation period.
