Cork Fleischmann Symphony Orchestra is delighted to be joining with St. Fin Barre's Cathedral Choir under its director Mr. Peter Stobart in opening our next concert on May 20th with a performance of Haydn's wonderful Missa Sancti Nicolai. This is our second collaboration with the choir and we are very much looking forward to performing this beautiful piece with them in their magnificent home at St Fin Barre's Cathedral.

Another highlight of the concert will be a performance of Tchaikovsky's Variations on a Rococo Theme. Our soloist is young Cork cellist Zoe Nagle. Zoe's solo debut with the New York Concerti Sinfonietta in Carnegie Hall where she performed this piece was praised for "soaring in the lyrical variations in a confident, highly musical performance" (The Epoch Times). Zoe is sure to thrill her Cork audience with her interpretation of this much loved staple of the cello repertoire.

The concert will conclude with Beethovens's exuberant and spirited second symphony in D Major.

The concert will be presented by Evelyn Grant who needs no introduction to music lovers and whose breadth of musical knowledge always brings something extra special to our concerts.
