The National Library of Ireland (NLI) is seeking a Senior Library Assistant: Offsite Storage Manager to join its Published Collections team. This new position is critical for managing over 250,000 volumes of the NLI’s published collection, currently stored offsite at the OPW Park West facility, some for up to 30 years.

The primary responsibility of the role involves minimising the impact of poor environmental conditions on these collections. This includes planning and conducting a condition survey, identifying rare and unique items, and organising a programme to catalogue, tag, clean, and rehouse all items to the highest preservation standards.

The Senior Library Assistant will report to the Assistant Keeper I, Published Collections, and will be involved in the planning and implementation of various tasks. These tasks are aimed at comprehensively assessing, securing, and preserving the offsite stored collection.
