The University of Galway invites applications for the role of Head of School of English, Media & Creative Arts, with an accompanying Professorship. This full-time, permanent position is set to commence no later than 1 September 2024. The initial term as Head of School is four years, with a potential for renewal.

Applicants should have a proven record of leadership in a multi-disciplinary environment and a research profile of international repute. The role requires strategic vision to enhance the School’s teaching and research capabilities, ideally with expertise in creative industries, technologies, or digital humanities.

The position includes developing a five-year strategy for the School, contributing to the College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Celtic Studies, and supporting University-wide initiatives. The salary range is €134,287 to €169,770 per annum, and the closing date for applications is 16 May 2024 at 5pm.
