Community Engagement Officer

Community Engagement Officer

Thursday, 6 February 2020, 5.00pm

Scottish Chamber Orchestra is seeking a Community Engagement Officer.

The Community Engagement Officer is responsible for managing the delivery of a wide portfolio of projects, focusing on concerts and outreach projects that engage with the wider community such as the SCO Family Festival, SCO VIBE, Big Ears, Little Ears, and SCO ReConnect. The role will also involve working closely with the Creative Learning Director to develop Creative Learning communications and digital content, and to produce high quality marketing materials for the programme.

As a key part of the SCO’s strategy for engaging with the wider public, the Community Engagement Officer role is a challenging position that carries a high level of responsibility. The Community Engagement Officer will manage some of SCO’s most high-profile Creative Learning projects and may deputise for the Director in meetings and at events to represent both the department and the organisation. The role is extremely rewarding as it provides a real opportunity to enrich the lives of people from diverse communities through music, and to help shape the SCO Creative Learning programme and communications. It also provides substantial opportunities for training, personal development and travel.
