The Hitmaker Fund is a grant program that supports songwriters and producers in the popular music industry. It offers grants ranging from £5,000 to £10,000 to help individuals further their careers in writing and production. The fund was launched in 2017 by PRS Foundation and BASCA Trust in response to the long-term career needs of those working behind the scenes.

The Hitmaker Fund is not for performing artists or bands. It is intended to support behind-the-scenes songwriters and producers who have a demonstrable track record in the industry. Applicants must be registered PRS For Music members with a CAE number. UK-based songwriters and producers who have a previous professional track record as a writer or producer are eligible to apply.

To apply for The Hitmaker Fund, applicants must be either songwriters or producers. Songwriters are defined as behind-the-scenes creators of new music who do not also perform or produce, while producers are those working on production who contribute to the songwriting process and are acknowledged as writers.

Performing producers and DJs should apply for artist-based projects through the PPL Momentum Fund / Open Fund. If you are at an earlier stage in your career, other funding options are available, including The Open Fund.
