Songs of The Shipyard

Songs of The Shipyard

Monday, 5 August 2019, 8.00pm

Peacock Angell draws the audience into the world of working-class Northern Irish shipyard poet and dramatist Thomas Carnduff, performing original musical settings of his poems interwoven with fascinating biographical excerpts from early-20th century Belfast.

Violinist/singer Ruth Angell (Ashley Hutchings' Rainbow Chasers) brings her spellbinding voice, and Sid Peacock his dextrous acoustic guitar, to this truly captivating mix of music, poetry and history. With special guest Steve Tromans.

'Wildly creative.' Independent on Sunday

This event is dedicated to the memory of our dear friend Sam McCready who was a lifelong supporter of east Belfast and friend to the festival. He and his wife Joan were key collaborators for Songs of the Shipyard at ESAF ‘17. He is very much missed.

Tickets: £10 / £8 (concession)
