Seán Lyons has established himself as a skilled multi-instrumentalist and singer, influenced by his upbringing in a family deeply rooted in traditional music and singing. While still in his teenage years, Seán developed a keen interest in folk music, which he passionately interprets through his performances. Alongside his passion for interpretation, Seán began writing his own songs during this time.

In 2020, Seán released his debut single, “Lady Winter,” followed by “Finavarra Reverie” in 2021. Garnering attention for his musical talent, Seán recently unveiled his first EP, titled “Juliana EP,” on February 3, 2023. The EP comprises a collection of five original folk songs, each composed with meticulous care. The title track, “Juliana,” stands as a poignant lament, paying tribute to La Juliana, a Spanish ship that met its tragic fate off the coast of Sligo in 1588.

Notably, Seán Lyons is also a member of the band “Merfolk,” alongside Aisling Lyons and Dermot Sheedy, further showcasing his musical versatility and collaborative spirit.
