It was amazing - I’ll always remember this evening and where I was when I first heard The Leap. Audience member, April 2023.
Irish trad band Réalta returns to Limavady after a sold-out show in April 2023. The night will feature The Leap - a 15-minute love song to Limavady co-written by Conor Lamb and Deirdre Galway. Inspired by audience feedback, The Leap is now animated in a Crankie Box, an ancient storytelling form featuring an illustrated scroll which moves as it’s ‘cranked’ inside a box, a bit like a little puppet theatre, crafted by artist Peter Crann.

Alongside the premiere of the Crankie and a live performance by poet Anne McMaster, Réalta will showcase their signature mix of lively reels and haunting airs, with guest performers from Jimmy O’Hara, Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, Roe Valley.

This event is supported by Arts Council of Northern Ireland Rural Engagement Arts Programme.
