Chamber Choir Ireland presents Andrea Gabrieli's 'Oedipus Rex', available to stream for online audiences.

Taking on the role of the Greek chorus, the singers of Chamber Choir Ireland tell the tale of King Oedipus as he hunts for a murderer in his kingdom, uncovering what we in the audience already know to be true—that he is doomed to the ironies of fate.

Led by Artistic Director Paul Hillier, Chamber Choir Ireland performed this rarely heard work by Andrea Gabrieli to a live audience in October 2021. This concert, offering all the best of Ancient Greek storytelling and Italian Renaissance music, will now be made available to online audiences for one week only.
