The Art and Music Department at John Jay College of the City University of New York (CUNY) seeks an experienced and dynamic choral director to lead our John Jay Choir.

The Lecturer will be required to perform teaching and related faculty functions in area(s) of expertise. A four-four teaching load, community outreach, recruitment, and the organization of a concert series for the choir are required for the position.

The proven ability to teach in a diverse liberal arts environment is necessary, and the hiring committee is especially interested in applicants who through their leadership, community service, lived experience and/or research will contribute to the diversity mission of the college.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully.

Preferred Qualifications:
Vocal performance and vocal accompaniment experience, as well as experience in teaching music skills, basic music theory, class piano, and appreciation of Western classical music to non-majors is desirable.
