New Works for St Brigid's Day/Lá Fhéile Bríde

Tuesday, 1 February 2022, 9.00am

To celebrate Lá Fhéile Bríde/St Brigid's Day 2022, the Irish Traditional Music Archive, in collaboration with the Irish Foreign Ministry has commissioned new works inspired by lore relating to Brigid from three leading Irish traditional artists:

Louise Mulcahy (uilleann piper/flute player)
Síle Denvir (harper/sean-nós singer)
Caitlín Nic Gabhann (concertina player and dancer)

Three videos featuring the newly composed tunes, dance and song will premiere on Tuesday 1 February 2022 on ITMA YouTube, Website, Facebook and IGTV. They will also feature on To Be Irish an online digital exhibition celebrating St. Brigid and the lives and legacies of women at home and abroad.
