Music Generation’s Wicklow Youth Orchestra presents its inaugural performance! Comprising of 21 musicians aged between 12 and 18 from all around north Wicklow, the orchestra has been running since February 2022 and is currently based in the Ashford Heritage & Community Centre.

Our conductor is Áine Gell has recently taken part in the National Concert Halls Female Conductor Programme. Using skillful direction and mentorship Áine has helped the orchestra move towards finding their own distinctive sound. Orchestra leader Siofradh Walsh-Peelo will lead the musicians through a lovely varied repertoire which is sure to please. The orchestra is delighted to be able to hold its first performance in the fabulous Whale Theatre in Greystones. This is just the first step on what promises to be a long and fulfilling musical journey for many of our young Wicklow musicians.

We are also joined by some young talented musicians who although not members of our orchestra have crossed our path recently and we are delighted to support them in a performance opportunity.
