Applications are now open for artists interested in performing at the 2024 SXSW Music Festival, taking place from March 11 to March 16 in Austin, Texas. The application period commences on June 27, 2023, and closes on October 27, 2023, at 11:59 pm PT. The event offers a platform for musicians to perform in one of Austin’s live music venues in front of an international audience, including approximately 30,000 industry professionals and 3,000 media members.

Two categories for application fees exist: an early entry fee of $35 valid until August 25, 2023, and a regular application fee of $55 applicable from August 26 to October 27, 2023. All music genres are eligible, and both signed and unsigned artists from around the world may apply. Each invited act is guaranteed one official showcase performance, with slots averaging 40 minutes. SXSW does not cover backline, travel, or accommodation expenses for artists. Confirmation emails are sent within 48 hours of application submission, and the final selection will be communicated on or before December 19, 2023.
