Zrazy are a unique amalgamation of pop, jazz and celtic influences that have continued to radiate positivity and accumulate accolades throughout their 20 year career. The laid-back duo of vocalist Maria Walsh and saxophonist/pianist Carole Nelson have recorded six albums, toured much of the world and have won an array of awards globally including a USA OutMusic Award for their 'Dream On' album, a USA GLAMA award for Best Jazz Song with the scintillating 'Remember (that you did first with me)' on their Private Wars album, an Irish Music Critics Award for Best New Band 1992 and a No.1 Hit Single & Irish Gold Disc for 'Ooh Ah Paul McGrath' for Italia '90.
"Smooth as silk Dublin-based world jazz funksters who mightily impressed on their last visit.. Although impossible to pin down, their music is creamy and rich, yet studded with nuggets of social conscience" Time Out, London
Still Zrazy after all these years! Since 1992, the groundbreaking duo of Carole Nelson and Maria Walsh have been flying the flag for slick and sassy jazzpop with intelligence, humour and grooves you could plant spuds in. Glam, poetic, with a hint of minxy subversion, they'll have you dancing on the inside. -Galway Jazz Festival 2019
