New Writing North and Film4 are seeking three screenwriters from Northern England for the Genre Feature Lab, a film development programme. The programme includes a two-day residential lab and ongoing development with a script editor to create a compelling film treatment and pitch deck. Participants will be matched with a regional producer.

Applicants must provide a 15-page screenwriting sample and be available for the residential lab on 28–29 September 2024. Writers will receive £3000 for development, with travel and accommodation covered.

The deadline for writer applications is 1 July 2024 at 11.59pm.
Producers from the North of Tyne can also apply by 6 June 2024 at 11.59pm.
