Rónán Ó Snodaigh of Kíla is doing a series of five concerts in Whelan’s in Dublin to celebrate his five solo albums.

Rónán Ó Snodaigh of Kíla is doing a series of five concerts in Whelan’s in Dublin to celebrate his five solo albums. Starting with his 2010 Water Off A Duck’s Back on Tuesday, 11 September, the gigs involve live performances of each of the albums with as many of the original musicians on stage as possible.

The line up for the first one is as follows:

Liam Ó Maonlaí - keyboards/voice
Steve Cooney - guitar/voice
Conor Murray - drums
Steve Mogerley - bass
Myles O Reilly - voice
Martin Shärear - percussion

Alpaca Jamboree (8pm) and Rhob Cunningham (8.30pm) are the support acts on the night.

The other dates and albums revisited are as follows:

9 October – Last Mile Home (from 2007)
30 October – Play Days (from 2005)
20 November – Tonnta Ró (from 2004)
4 December – Tiptoe (from 2001)

In all, thirty-six different musicians are due to share the stage with Ó Snodaigh over the course of the five nights. Each evening will be filmed and released afterwards, and afterwards Ó Snodaigh plans to record his sixth album.
