Blind Stitch

Blind Stitch

Friday, 5 May 2023, 8.00pm

Blind Stitch is a project which features the music of Kevin Murphy, a celebrated cellist, multi-instrumentalist, composer and songwriter from Cork, Ireland. He is also a founding member of critically acclaimed Irish experimental bands Slow Moving Clouds and Seti The First. Blind Stitch has just released its debut album ‘The Emperor’s Lung’.A regular collaborator with Irish and international heavyweights such as The National, Bon Iver, Jenny Lewis, Lisa Hannigan, Gavin Friday, Seamus Fogarty, Adrian Crowley, Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode, John Spillane, Cathy Jordan, and Ger Wolfe.

Blind Stitch is a low-key, heart-stirring delight – glum and fraught, yet illuminated by an infectious optimism. It is a deeply personal and beautifully affecting work, perfectly framed in cello and voice. This concert is part of The Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival and will take place in the downstairs of The Duncairn, set out like a comfortable living room. The perfect setting.
