Tony Hadley @ Guinness Cork Jazz Festival
Tony Hadley, previously of Spandau Ballet, is scheduled to perform at the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival, along with special guests, the Spring Break 80s show. The event will be hosted at Cork City Hall on Saturday, 28th October, starting at 7pm. Tickets will be available on www.ticketmaster.ie from Thursday, July 6, at 10am.
Born in London, Tony Hadley initially had aspirations towards a career in medicine, but a winning performance in a holiday singing competition led him to choose music as his vocation. He went on to front Spandau Ballet, the 80s New Romantic band, and had numerous chart-topping singles and albums worldwide, including 'Through the Barricades', 'True', and 'Gold'.
Although Spandau Ballet disbanded in 1990, Hadley took part in two reunions which inspired the film “Soul Boys Of The Western World”. He has since left the band permanently and focused on his solo career, earning a Gold Badge from the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters in 2005. His contribution to the 2016 movie 'Eddie The Eagle' extended his reach to a wider audience.
Hadley released a solo album titled 'Talking To The Moon' in 2018, and in 2020, he released a new single 'Obvious', co-written with Mick Lister. In 2022, he embarked on his 40th Anniversary Tour and published a photo book titled "My Life In Pictures".
Tickets for the event, costing €45 + booking fee for standing and €55 + booking fee for reserved balcony seating, will be available on Ticketmaster from Thursday, July 6 at 10AM.
