The Arts Council is inviting applications for Literature Bursary Award – English Language.

The Award aims to support professional writers and picture book artists who primarily work in the English language. It provides financial support – up to a maximum of €20,000 – to allow them dedicated time for their creative projects, freeing them from financial obligations. The award encourages writers and picture book artists to focus on their creative work, fostering a conducive environment for thinking, research, reflection, creation, and writing. Emphasis is placed on the applicant’s track record, as reflected in the application form and CV, along with potential and promise, as evident in the application form and writing sample.

The closing date for applications is 17:30, Thursday 15 February 2024.
