LONDON PANDA – SongWriting Competition

LONDON PANDA – SongWriting Competition

Thursday, 30 March 2023, 6.00pm

County Hall Arts (CHA) is delighted to announce its latest musical concours - a songwriting competition with the theme ‘London Panda & the London Eye’ with a prize of £10,000 on offer.

Based out of the historic County Hall on London’s Southbank, CHA’s neighbours include the Royal Festival Hall, the BFI, the National Theatre - and the London Eye.

Songwriters (professional, amateur and hobbyists alike) are invited to enter their original creations, telling the whimsical tale of their fictional London Panda’s encounter with the Eye.

CHA is seeking a song with a beautiful, mystic melody and lyrics in the the class of the Nancy Sinatra performed ’Summer Wine’ (written by Lee Hazlewood) or ‘Bang Bang’ (by Sonny Bono). Accordingly, the winning entry will be philosophically poetic and creative as it aspires to a deeper meaning.

The Competition is open to composers of all nationalities and ages. There is no entry fee.

‘London Panda’ entries should be no longer than 3 minutes 30 seconds in length with audio files submitted in line.

The deadline for the competition is 18:00 GMT on Thursday 30th March 2023.
