The Kilkenny Arts Festival (KAF) is hosting a concert by pianist Barry Douglas on 14th August 2023 at 7.30 pm in St Canice’s Cathedral. This marks Douglas’s return to the festival for the first time since 2014.

The programme includes pieces by Schubert and Liszt. Specifically, Barry Douglas will perform two of Schubert’s ‘impromptus’, the Piano Sonata in A minor by Schubert, and Liszt’s Sonata in B minor, which is dedicated to Robert Schumann.

Franz Schubert: Four Impromptus, op. 142, D 935, nos 1 and 2
Franz Schubert: Piano Sonata no. 16 in A minor, op. 42, D 845
Franz Liszt: Sonata in B minor, S 178
