Lewis Barfoot HOME album launch

Saturday, 9 December 2023, 8.00pm

Lewis Barfoot at SIRIUS

Lewis Barfoot is an Irish/English singer-songwriter based in County Cork. She blends ethereal, evocative vocals with original compositions and reinventions of traditional songs. Jackie Hayden, from Hot Press, comments, referring to her debut record, Glenaphuca: “Barfoot’s voice and deft guitar-work blend magically to create an album to curl up with and be thankful for.”

In 2023, Lewis debuts her new album, HOME, partly written while in residency at SIRIUS in 2021-22. Her musical journey takes a personal turn with HOME, as she explores her Irish heritage and delves into the haunting narratives of her Cork-born female relatives. HOME welcomes a beautiful rhythm section to her folk palette, and her voice reaches new depths of beauty, enveloping listeners in a timeless and enchanting atmosphere.

At SIRIUS, Lewis and her band present a setlist of songs featured in HOME and from her past repertoire, creating a lively evening fusing storytelling, haunting melodies, and soul-stirring lyrics that hold the power to heal the wounds of the Irish past.
