Her debut album ‘Infinite Space’ a collection of songs in both Irish and English was released in 2022 and described by The Irish Times as “a seriously accomplished and self-confident debut” The album is folk-informed, jazz-tinged, post-pop, produced by Grammy-nominated Tyler Duncan and features an all-star lineup of musicians including Joe Dart (Vulfpeck), Louis Cato (Bobby McFerrin/ Snarky Puppy), Martin Atkinson Borrull (Toucan) and violinist Jeremy Kittel (Bela Fleck/ Chris Thile).

It’s one of the Irish language songs from the album and draws listeners in with its soulful quality paired with rhythmic intricacy and beautiful orchestrations by the brilliant composer/arranger Cormac McCarthy.

Síomha describes Spéir Rua as: “an ode to the beauty of Ireland's natural wonders…a celebration of the musical diversity in Ireland, which is currently bursting with creativity and a new wave of artists working in the Irish language”.

The EP will also feature a track with the renowned Metropole Orkest, the world’s leading pop and jazz orchestra who have collaborated with Ella Fitzgerald, Bono, Snarky Puppy and Robbie Williams amongst others. That track, ‘Infinite Space’ will be released in January 2024.

“What an exciting surprise to hear Síomha’s new record ‘Infinite Space’. Complex yet accessible, challenging yet warm and inviting. Vibrant vocals, soulful songs, heartfelt lyrics, mighty players. Music as sophisticated as this is a rarity these days. Music as sophisticated as this is a rarity these days.” - PAUL BRADY
