Cork International Choral Festival welcomes choirs from across the world for a programme of Gala concerts, Schools Concerts, National and International Competitions, and world-class performances, as thousands of participants bring the city to life for a celebration of choral music in all its many forms.

Church Interchange
24 April
For many years, local church choirs have played an important part in the activities of the Cork International Choral Festival. The Festival is delighted to announce the in-person return of the Church Interchange & Sacred Trail this year.

Sing With Sestina
27 April
Sestina presents an interactive workshop exploring Handel’s much-loved work, Messiah. The workshop will be led by specialist education facilitator Anne McCambridge and Sestina’s Musical Director, Mark Chambers, and will feature the full ensemble, all performing on authentic period instruments.

Opening Gala Concert
27 April
The 67th Cork International Choral Festival will be opened by an exclusive Gala Concert celebrating G.F. Handel’s masterpiece, the ‘Messiah’, performed by outstanding soloists and the wonderful Sestina choir.

27 April
The Cork International Choral Festival National Competition for Schools will feature seven school choirs competing in three categories.

Choral Trail - Wednesday
27 April
The choral trail on Wednesday takes place at Farmgate Cafe at the English Market, featuring a performance by Group Kavkasioni.

Choirs At St. Colman’s Cathedral
28 April
This concert features the Ole Bull Chamber Choir from Norway performing at St. Colman’s Cathedral in Cobh.

I Fagiolini - Re-Wilding The Waste Land
28 April
This concert will see UK choir I Fagiolini perform a programme inspired by T.S. Eliot’s The Waste Land.

28 April
For this concert, two choirs will perform at Triskel Christchurch in Cork city – Group Kavkasioni and Eller Girls’ Choir.

The choral trail on Thursday takes place in various venues across Cork city and county, featuring performances by Group Kavkasioni, Eller Girls’ Choir, and Mäster Olofskören.

The choral trail on Friday takes place in various venues across Cork city and county, featuring performances by Vaskivuori Upper Secondary School Chamber Choir, Mäster Olofskören, Ole Bull Chamber Choir, Glasis Chamber Choir, Eller Girls’ Choir, and Vaskivuori Upper Secondary School Chamber Choir.

Chamber Choir Ireland - A Brief Descent into Deep Time

Chamber Choir Ireland continue their 2022 retrospective on Steve Martland, with a concert which places the late composer in the context of his contemporaries, John Frandsen and John Luther Adams—both born within a few years of him.
