Music at the Malt House is an annual festival in the beautiful Malt House in Stradbally. Co. Laois featuring unique musical collaborations between young musicians from Music Generation Laois and guest musicians.
In 2023, Music at the Malt House will open with a dynamic Trad/Folk/ World music trio Kentucky fiddler Liz Knowles, Niall Vallely on concertina and Congolese guitarist Niwel Tsumbu presented by Music Network on Thursday 4 May.
On 5 May, the headline act at the festival is US Harp Ensemble, The New England Irish Harp Orchestra. Also performing is the Music Generation Laois Harp Orchestra and Junior Trad Group, and the Laois School of Music Junior Youth Orchestra.
On Saturday 6 May, the festival will culminate with performances from the Music Generation Laois Trad Orchestra, Trad Group, Uilleann Pipes Quartet, and The Harpettes, and the Scottish harp-fiddle duo, Catriona McKay and Chris Stout.
The beautiful Malthouse venue in Stradbally is a magical setting that gives audiences a very rare opportunity to attend a concert in a historic Malt House that is privately owned, and wonderfully restored as a contemporary residence.

Music Generation Laois is part of Music Generaiton, Ireland's national music education programme, co-funded by U2, The Ireland Funds and the Department of Education. Locally Music Generation Laois is part of Laois Offaly Education and Training Board and Supported by Laois County Council.
