Dublin-born pianist Luke Lally Maguire is a recent graduate of TUDublin Conservatoire studying piano under Dr. Mary Lennon, where he graduated with First Class Honours in the Bachelor of Music degree in performance. Upon graduating, Luke was also the recipient of the Michael McNamara Award for excellence in performance. In September 2021, Luke began postgraduate studies at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, where he currently studies study with Carole Presland and Ronan O’Hora. Luke is generously supported by the Ireland Funds having been awarded a George Moore Scholarship for the period 2021-23.

Luke is an experienced performer both in competitions and on the concert platform. In 2021, he was a multiple prize-winner in Ireland’s leading classical music competition, Feis Ceoil, winning the Nordell Cup and the Mabel Swainson Pianoforte Award for solo playing, as well as the Milne Cup for collaborative performance. He has also been the recipient of numerous other first place awards in the Sligo Feis Ceoil and TUDublin Conservatoire in-house competitions.

Luke is in demand as an accompanist and chamber musician, frequently performing in collaborations for recitals and concerts. He is a member of Trio Tempra, a newly formed piano trio based in London. In July 2022, the trio made their debut performing in Chelmsford Cathedral, Essex as part of the Chelmsford Chamber Festival. Luke was also a member of the 2020/21 ABL Aviation Opera Studio run by Irish National Opera as assistant repetiteur where he received coaching from repetiteurs Richard McGrath and Brenda Hurley. In August 2021, Luke took part in the Boyne Valley Young Artist Programme with Irish soprano, Eiméar Harper. He has also performed as accompanist in masterclasses with many of Ireland’s leading opera singers including Tara Erraught, Orla Boylan and Gavan Ring.
Luke himself has engaged in several piano masterclasses and lessons with Richard Goode, Paul Lewis, Christopher Elton, Barry Douglas, Vanessa Latarche, Peter Donohoe, Leon McCawley, Hilary Coates and Therese Fahy among others.
