Music for Galway Establishes Archive

Founded in 1981,  Music for Galway has been promoting regular concerts of classical music in Galway City ever since. Following the organisation’s twenty-fifth anniversary last year, an archive that documents the organisation’s development over the years has been established.

The archive has been catalogued at the James Hardiman Library, which is based at NUI Galway, and will be launched officially at the University’s Aula Maxima on 19 November at 6pm by Erika Casey, a founding member of Music for Galway. There will also be a performance by the Con Tempo Quartet as well as a display of some items from the collection.

Contained in the archive are various kinds of documents, including ticket samples, press releases, press clippings, programmes and photographs.
