The Trench Award, in its eleventh year, is open for applications from young classical singers and musicians. This prestigious award supports those under 27 from the Midlands/Mid-West region of Ireland, aiming to advance their professional performance careers. The award facilitates further studies in classical music at accredited institutions, both in Ireland and abroad.

Six finalists will be chosen to perform at the Birr Festival of Music, Birr Theatre & Arts Centre, Co. Offaly, on 5 May 2024. The Trench Award and other bursaries will be presented based on performances judged by an international panel.

Applications require a completed form, an mp3 recording of two contrasting pieces, and a high-resolution headshot. The deadline is 22 February 2024, 3 pm. Queries can be directed to [email protected].
