A musical collaboration is set to take place between Altan and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra with conductor David Brophy on Friday, 18th August 2023. The performance is scheduled for 8:00 pm at the Main Stage in Dublin 2.

Founded by vocalist and fiddler Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh and her late husband, Frankie Kennedy, Altan have been one of the biggest bands in traditional Irish music for almost 40 years. Their spirit and sound comes from the deep and rich musical tradition of their native Co. Donegal and their mission to bring the unique repertoire of Donegal music to the world has taken them on tour around the globe many times. The band’s impressive track record clocks up performances for US Presidents and collaborations with artists such as Dolly Parton, Jerry Douglas and Mary Chapin Carpenter, among many others. Altan’s latest album The Gap of Dreams is available on Compass records, and the band is currently working on a new album for release in 2024.

Ticket prices for the event have been outlined as €42.50, €28.50, and €15.
