About Tunes from a Misspent Youth
Tunes from a Misspent Youth are back again to raise some much needed funds for Parkinson’s Care & Research. Last year the band and guests raised over €5500.00 for The Irish Hospice Foundation. This year all proceeds will be split between The Parkinsons Association Of Ireland & Parkinsons Lisburn Branch.

This latest ‘Tunes from a Misspent Youth’ event is primarily intended to help raise some much-needed funding to aid Medical Research and Palliative Care for those sufferers benefiting from the support groups, Parkinsons Association Of Ireland and Parkinson’s Disease Lisburn groups in Ireland; the latter group was a significant source of aid personally for one of our group core members, given the much-needed support it freely offered both his late wife and life-partner Amanda (and himself as her main carer over the course of the past four years) as she fought this serious illness since her definitive 2020 diagnosis, until she unfortunately succumbed to its punitive effects in October 2022; this show is to highlight and honour the amazing work these support groups cumulatively offer our communities.

Tunes from a Misspent Youth are a four piece band made up of some of Ireland’s top session musicians. Collectively they have played, recorded and toured all over the world with artists such as Van Morrison, Sharon Shannon, Mary Black, Clannad, Something Happens, Frances Black, Albert Hammond, Shane MacGowan, The Chieftains, Gilbert O Sullivan, Sinead O Connor, Johnny McEvoy, Ronnie Drew, Damien Dempsey & Paul Carrack to name just a few.

The line up consists of:
John McLoughlin on Guitar & Vocals
Alan Connor on Guitar, Keys & Vocals
Nicky Scott on Bass & Vocals
Gerry Culloty on Drums & Vocals

The band formed in the summer of 2019 to play the songs they loved when growing up. This includes the music of: Ry Cooder, ZZ Top, Steely Dan, Little Feat, Rory Gallagher, The Allman Brothers Band, The Doors, Warren Zevon, Thin Lizzy, The Band, George Harrison, The Meters, Little Village, Horslips & More.

They will also be joined on the night by a Brass Section led by Alison Reynolds plus special guests The Daniel Gallagher Trio & Laoise McLoughlin.
