Cellissimo Ambassador Programme

Cellissimo Ambassador Programme

Thursday, 4 April 2024, 5.00pm

The Cellissimo Ambassador Programme, running from May 2024 to May 2027, offers a unique opportunity for an accomplished cellist. The programme centres around the Galway Cello, crafted by luthier Kuros Torkzadeh, featuring woods predominantly from Co. Galway and an emblematic Claddagh Ring on its scroll, symbolising its Galway heritage.

The role of the Cellissimo Ambassador, currently held by Catherine Cotter, involves a variety of prestigious performances and public appearances, ranging from season launches to gala concerts. The Ambassador also engages in public speaking, sharing experiences on diverse platforms including national news.

As Cotter’s term concludes with Cellissimo 2024, the programme seeks a new Ambassador to inherit the Galway Cello and continue this tradition of musical excellence and public engagement. The position is ideal for a cellist transitioning to a higher stage in their musical career.

Interested candidates are invited to apply for this role by 4 April 2024.
